ADMINISTRATIVE

We pride ourselves on creating a client experience you can trust.  New clients will meet Janelle (Nellie) Schamaun at your home for what we refer to as a Meet & Greet.  This is the best opportunity for you and your dog to meet Nellie, discuss the process, and learn about what makes Marathon Mutts so special.  We will provide you with the information you'll need to get started, and  follow up in a few days in case you have any questions.

All dogs must be up to date with the following:

HOW IT WORKS

Our dog walking visits and pet sitting services start when we arrive at your home, and end when we lock the door.  The time allotted for your walk and pet sitting includes time to say hello, leash up, walk and play, clean up any accidents, feed (if applicable) and refresh water, notes, and say our goodbyes.  We would be happy to perform other tasks at your home such as feeding your fish, watering plants, etc. but this time spent will reduce the amount of time available for walking.

We understand Force-Free, according to the Pet Professional Guild to mean: "No shock, No pain, No fear, No physical force, No compulsion based methods are employed to train or care for a pet." Meaning we do not use any tools or training techniques that we believe will cause any pain of discomfort. This includes but is not limited to: choke chains, prong collars, shock collars, and slip leads.

Due to the short time allotted for potty breaks, this service includes leashing up, potty in the yard, clean up an accident, provide water and say our goodbyes.

Sometimes mother nature makes it impossible to provide a safe experience for your dog and our walkers.  That's why, if temperatures are below 32 degrees or above 85 degrees then for the safety of your pets and our walkers we must limit the amount of outdoor exposure your dog will receive, and switch from a walk to indoor playtime / training.  We will notify you in advance if we anticipate any unsafe temperature conditions.  We walk in all weather unless there is a state of emergency. In a state of emergency all walks other than our pet sitting clients will be cancelled.
